Enersys Cyclon monoblocks are made of a single cell battery construction uses a patented, starved electrolyte system. Advantages of Enersys monoblocks are; long service life, rugged constructions, extreme temperature performance, fast recharge, high discharger rates and low internal resistance. In addition to the standard cylindrical configurations, Cyclon cells offer a high degree of flexibility to meet unusual requirements and can be configured in an infinite number of designs to meet your precise voltage and amp hour requirements.

Monoblock battery pack construction

The monobloc construction differs from single cell construction as it is essentially a battery consisting of multiple cells, each cell element inserted in a single plastic container. Spade terminals are inserted into the molded openings connecting internally to the plate tab lead busbars. Intercell plate tabs are connected by through-the-wall welds. Acid is added using the vacuum fill process, the cover is heat sealed in place and a Bunsen relief valve installed. The battery is now formation charged. Cases are available for most designs in either flame-retardant ABS Cycolac (General Electric) material, meeting UL94VO flammability rating, or Styrene (available only in 2X3 D and X battery configurations). Some cases have mounting holes. Rigid plastic cases are recommended for applications in which the battery must withstand vibration, movement or extreme weather conditions.
